INT. PETER AND ALBERTINE’S
BEDROOM. They are lying in bed side by side, staring up at the ceiling.
We see them from above, in the moonlight. Albertine rolls over to
face Peter and touches her fingers lovingly to his face.
You’re awake.ALBERTINESorry. I’m trying to sleep.PETERThink about Manhattan.ALBERTINEWhat makes you say that?PETERIt’s what I do when I want to get away from . . . my troubles.ALBERTINE(confessing)(inspired, snuggling him)Let me take you there. DISSOLVE TO:

THIRTY SECONDS OF "HAVE I TOLD YOU LATELY THAT I LOVE YOU?" VAN MORRISON |
EXT. MANHATTAN. A SIDEWALK CAFE. NIGHT. SUMMERTIME.
Peter and Albertine are drinking martinis, as Nick and Nora Charles do
when they make their first appearance in The Thin Man.
Peter checks his watch, looks worried, hails a waiter.There we are, in some sweet dive . . .ALBERTINE (V.O.) Peter? . . . What’s the matter?ALBERTINEThe hotel . . . the boiler . . .PETER(paying, getting up) CUT TO:
INT. PENNSYLVANIA STATION PLATFORM. Peter, dressed
as Nick Charles, pulling Albertine, dressed as Nora Charles, racing to
catch a Long Island Rail Road train to Babbington.
We don’t have to go back.ALBERTINE. . . the roof . . .PETER CUT TO:
EXT. THE BABBINGTON TOWN DOCK. NIGHT. Peter
and Albertine, still dressed as Nick and Nora, in the launch, ankle deep
in water. Peter is bailing furiously.
Oh, Peter, do we have to go back?ALBERTINEI’ve put fifteen years into this . . . and I can’t . . . I can’t stop bailing.PETER CUT TO:
INT. PETER AND ALBERTINE’S BEDROOM. From above, we
see Peter and Albertine in their bed. They are both awake, staring at the
ceiling.

THIRTY SECONDS OF "INDIAN SUMMER" SIDNEY BECHET |
EXT. THE OLD DOCK. A figure in a black wetsuit,
with hood and face mask, and scuba gear, emerges from the water below the
dock. He removes the face mask and hood. It’s Curt Small.
Curt signals with a waterproof flashlight. The camouflaged boat that “Fillmore” used approaches silently, rowed by Dexter. In the bow is Jeffrey, holding a large squirming bag. Beside him is Lizzie, holding another squirming bag. Curt takes Jeffrey’s bag. He takes it to shore and opens it, releasing a dozen cats. Lizzie hands him the other bag. THEME UP
